Ive been using bullseye, but im telling ya this is my last can before switching to WST
burns to slow, to dirty.

Beyond that, looks good. I mainly load .45 though.

Right on! WST is far superior than filthy BE. I wish more people would try WST so they know what they're missing. But zfields, BE burns faster than WST, it's one of the fastest pistol powders out there.

Anto, that data looks OK, but where did you find it? Most manuals don't recommend using BE with 147gr bullet. You are loading 9mm, right? I would switch to another powder if you like 147gr bullets, like WST or WSF. But 3.2gr of BE is not a hot load by any means, so it should work fine. It'll probably be a very soft shooting load.

Remember how funky the BE load data is, its much much less powder per charge, but 3.2 does still sound pretty low.

WST burns way cooler than BE and much cleaner. Plus it has way higher volume making it safer. You'll never go back to BE. There's really not a better choice in powder out there for light to medium rounds in 9mm or 45. The only problem is that WST is cursed in that it there is no readily available load data for 9mm and most people don't like to work up loads any more.

9mm, correct. I'm only using BE because I bought it at a show before I got my press. I'm planning to burn up this lb and grab 4 lb Solo1000 and/or 4lb WST

What I was concerned about was the OAL, as my factory 115gr Federal has the same OAL.. I'm guessing that is loaded to higher pressures though so the 147 can get away with 1.145.

I'm planning to get some 147gr hardcast rounds, I've heard with Solo1k the smoke is at a minimum..

Found the load after reading 3-4 different recipes on enos forums..
I'm planning to work up the load after I get a chrony, but I need it mainly to be low smoke.. I might up it to 3.5gr if I don't get any pressure signs.. what do you guys think?

as long as your not below the min OAL, you should be golden. Its sorta hit and miss though with some guns with feeding.

I know on my XD, using cast lead, I need to seat very close to the min oal due to how hard it slams rounds upwards. Using even moderate OAL causes jams with lead, but works fine with FMJ/TMJ bullets.

Anto : Ive knoticed bullseye is pretty smokey / dirty, so just be ready for it.

This is the only load data I could find in a reloading manual out of the 2 that I have that involves bullseye for that weight of bullet at all

3.9-4.2gr is the range listed in the Lee manual, OAL min 1.40, 147gr XTP. I don't see anything for FMJ except on the Hodgdon Powder list , which shows 3.9-4.3 WSF at 1.169. All the sources I have seem to focus on XTP bullets at 147 gr, Hodgdon being the exception.

The Alliant Powder list does not show its Bullseye for 9mm Luger but rather Power Pistol, Blue Dot, and Unique with Speer GDHP. Power Pistol is what I use on 9mm and 40 SW, working great so far. Bullseye is what I use on 45 ACP, following the mil spec load with 5.0 gr and FMJ.

Bullseye is too fast for the 147 in a 9mm. Accuracy is only so so. If you want a nice, soft and accurate load, try 4.4grs of HS-6. No, it's not clean, but the pressure curve is mild and the accuracy is superb.

Lol, oh. I made up the name like 8 years ago when I was hooked on the XD. I just still use it on all the forums so I use the same name. That way if people want to put me on ignore it's easier

The XD is a great pistol. I keep one in my nightstand that I trust my life with. But ever since I tasted the glock coolaid I have been hooked. Simply put I just shoot glock better and that's what really counts. But the XD will always be my go to gun.
