Multiple seaters for the same caliber

So today I was doing my second batch of reloads and was eagerly using the RCBS Competition die I got yesterday and adjusted seating for the Hornady V-Max 60 gr bullet, no problems!

But when I went to load some Sierra 55 GR Varmiter I knowingly had to readjust the setting on the mic... no problem, because I just marked it with a dab of Sharpie white paint, I forgot how many turns I made and forgot to write down at what increment on the shaft of the die it was set.

All this is no biggie, but long story short, how many reloaders here use multiple seating dies for the different projectiles that they load? I have a turret press with three open stations and started giving thought to screwing in the standard seating die for the "plinking" rounds and the competition die for the target/competition loads.

Any thoughts on this?

Works for me. I have more than one die(or die sets) for seating barnes bullets or other specific bullets. I got them when they were cheap off e-bay and I had money.

No, use the same seating die for everything, those micrometer marks allow you to record the proper setting for different bullets.
(they're ALL different, different ojives, lengths, shapes).
You just need to write down the settings for each bullet and keep a logbook. Loading Berger 77s? Just look up the number. After you've worked with the seating die for a while, you'll get to know it better and your seating uniformity will improve.

This is the main reason I went out and got Redding Comp seaters for the two XL650 Dillon machines that I have dedicated for 45ACP and 9mm.
