this is my FIRST time EVER reloading ammunition...

oh my gawdh...i will never buy factory ammunition again!

this is a 5-shot group that i shot with a Remington 700 chambered in .308 Win at 100 yards. i used Sierra 75 grain BTHP bullets, 35.7 grains of IMR 4064, crappy PMC brass, and then some CCI large rifle primers. i used almost ALL RCBS equipment from Cabela's.

i just bought all this reloading equipment last month from RCBS. I couldn't wait to get started. But yeah, being a noob reloader, i was scared as hell making my own cartridges for the first time, i kept measuring and weight components over and over again.

of course, i was scared as hell firing my own reloads for the first time, i thought i was going to have my rifle blow up in my face! but i eased up once i started making these groups! Also these were very light loads compared to factory ammo, so more fun to shoot.

I can't wait to try this out in a high power match.

It's a great feeling. Congratulations, and nice group. Nowhere else to go but down from here (in group size ).

Nice shootin', Tex! That's, I believe, what we call, "MOA" precision.

BTW, everyone, note that he didn't take that measurement center-hole to center-hole. He took it edge to edge, so the "official" group sizing would actually be even smaller.

I don't do a lot of rifle ammo yet, but I saw a similar result with .38 Special ammo at 25 yards. Not only is reloading a fun hobby, not only does it save money per round, but as you just showed, you become a modern-day William Tell.

Nice job, but you missed the weight of the bullet. I think you meant to say 175gr, we will let it slide this time

Yeah, I noticed that, too and just let it go. After all, with shooting like that, we don't wanna make him mad at us! ;-)

Did someone give you guidance on the reloading or you just book / internet learned?

I am feeling compelled as the moth is drawn to flame to start myself.

hah hah...yes, i used 175 grain Sierra BTHPs.

and oh yeah, i didn't know it was supposed to be measured "center of hole to the center of the hole"

                  ...wow, i'm such a noob!

and for Maltese Falcon, i did a lot of reading from the Sierra reloading book, Lyman reloading book, the ABC's of Reloading. i also took a class at my local gunshop here in NorCal. however, i think i learned the most from watching the Hornady reloading video (and the RCBS video too)!!!

So were we all (hell, I still am!). My point was, that grouping is less than MOA, I'm guessing 0.65". That was some damn fine shooting you did there. Bambi doesn't stand a chance!

The first sign of reloading addiction, the joy of seeing the great results from your reloading. You are hopelessly lost now.

Very impressive... I think the shooter has to take some credit as well.... Good work.
