10mm, BVAC - anyone shoot this stuff??

Decent pricing, but I'm wary... anyone shoot this stuff? I've never heard of 'em.

Seems like cheap once fired stuff. Prob won't group well at a distance but for practice and plinking seems good. I gotten stuff from the same company and it didn't group worth anything but super cheap and I just reloaded the brass.

I think it would be great for plink then reload later on. It's cheap so why not.

I bought 1000 9mm, had about 1 percent that wouldn't fire on first strike, and a few of those wouldn't fire on the second. Ok accuracy at thirty feet.

Most of the BVAC ammo is once fired brass from military and police ranges that has been reloaded. If the ammo is loose in the box its reloads, if they come with a tray, its factory new stuff.

I used to carry this brand for a while but hard a hard time selling since they are largely unfamiliar to shooters here in the west.

It's a fairly new company in Montana,

I've gone through plenty of revolver ammo with no problems. I haven't tried any pistol loads.

I've gone through a bunch of .223, 9mm, .45acp, .44mag, and .38sp and all of it has shot really well. The .38 shoots really dirty and seems to leave a LOT of residue, but the other stuff shoots really good however a little mild compared to anything else. I compared the bunch of it and actually just got done shooting .44mag, .223, and .38 and all of it has gone off w/o a hitch. I've been through almost 2k 9mm rounds so far and I don't think i've had one failure to fire out of all of it.

I have two cases of the hollow point ...well what's left of one and a full case...

I pretty much like it... it's hot and shoots flat and pretty accurate...their 40sw won't shoot for crap in our 40's but the 10mm is outstanding!

the hollow point bullet they sold me isn't much but that's Ok it's for shooting and practice mostly....I have silvertip for carry and some Horn. full power stuff and dpx for hunting...

thanks for the heads up Saigon!

Not a bad price, but he wants a local sale, and the zip codes look SoCal to me... I have enough to hold me until I can check out MilWall @ the next Valljeo show. CheaperThanDirt will e-mail me when the bulk 500 10mm is back in stock.

I'd steer clear of the BVAC stuff. They have some quality control issues. http://www.thecmp.org/forums/showthr...highlight=bvac

YMMV, but I wouldn't touch that stuff. I'd rather spend a little more on quality ammo than risk my gun being damaged by shoddy ammo.

We ordered a decent amount of their .223 and .308 for evaluation. Pretty good ammo for the price. Its not black hills...but it does the trick if you are on a budget.

I wouldn't put too much weight on that article. One of the first things that I noticed was; "Carbine barrel had come loose from receiver, receiver hairline cracked" I don't think that its necessarily the manufacturer's fault if somebody has a faulty gun, however I do think that he did get a bad batch of .30 carbine judging by the bad looking primers, OAL's and the like. Anyway, use your own judgement on them but I've had great luck with BVAC.
