    Miwall .380 ACP reloads

I just picked some up at the Glendale gun show this past weekend. It looks like nice stuff, 95 gr FMJ, mostly Win brass. However, when looking at them sitting in the tray, they do not all sit at the same height. I thought it might be the trays, but I pulled some out and sure enough, the OAL varies a lot between them. I haven't measured them with the calipers yet, but the difference is noticable to the eye. None seem seated excessively deep.

Should I be concerned? I'm almost sure it will affect shot to shot consistency. Being a reloader, albeit fairly new to the hobby, I feel more inclined now to notice these things. I don't load .380 yet but I will soon, and when I do I'm sure my quality control will be kept a lot tighter than this. Is OAL variation common with Miwall ammo?

On another note, I'll be shooting this out of an old Llama "Especial", it's a mini 1911 style pistol that has a locked breech action. Are these considered safer than straight blowback?

Check your OAL on these. Set aside any round that is too short or over OAL to send back to Miwall.

Miwall has some issues with their reloaded brass they put on the market. A friend of mine just got Miwall to agree to replace all of this 3,000 rounds of 9mm because of improper OAL loads for several rounds that detonated out of battery in our pistols because of bulged cases. Luckily no one lost any fingers. Worst case was that we had some chunks of brass embedded into one shooters face (mine) and a jammed extractor.
