    Old Ammo

I have some old Ammo from my grandfather...

Is it worth anything? Or how do I dispose of it properly?

A few boxes of Remington Kleanbore 25 auto
A few boxes of Remington Kleanbore 22 long rifle
A box of Peters 12 ga
A box of Reminton Kleanbore 12 ga
    A box of Western Super X 30 springfield 1906 Lubaloy 180 grain
A box of Western Suepr X 30 Springfield 1906 Silver Tip 220 Grain

a few odd WWII M1 shells too...
The Shotgun shells are paper and not plastic so it's all probably from the late 40's or 50's....

can't say what any of it might be worth to a collector.

as far as disposal goes. I'd recommend the use of firearms. I get people asking me all the time "I have this ammo I bought in the 1980's. is it ok to shoot?"....I've fired ammo from the 1880's! it all went bang. as long as it hasn't gotten wet it should be good to go.

Can't be too careful with something like this, as a courtesy I can properly dispose of this for you if you send it to me!

As long there are not sign of corrosion or damage on the ammo itself and cool, dry storage then it should go "bang". If the boxes are full and box are in good condition, like another poster stated it may have value to a collector.

most of the boxes are full and the ammo looks good. Only the .22 looks old.. ie a tad dirtyish... the .22 also has a cool crimped bullet I've not seen before...

I guess I'll sell them to collectors, although the 12 ga boxes look pretty cool...

SHOOT IT! SHOOT IT! It's like a gun, ammo's built to be shot, not just sit there.

22 "crimped" are probably blanks. lot of old .22 blank-firing revolvers around. that aside, take it out and shoot it unless it's valuable. all the weird old crap i've come across has gone bang, save for some surplus stuff. try it out.

22 "crimped" may be snake shot also.
