so i just bought a Lyman 1200 dps3 electronic powder dispenser and scale. been looking at a few different ones for a while now and was going to buy the cheaper "Smartreloader" one when i stumbled upon the lyman for only 5 bucks more than the average price of the cheap guy. after a few minutes of consideration, i pounced on it. i've read a few reviews but the general feeling i get is that they're all comparable. i have a few things lyman and have been happy with all of them so i have no doubt this will be a quality product. anybody else care to weigh in on this? i've been using a LEE perfect powder measure, which is decent but certainly far from perfect, and a frankford(cheap) electronic scale thus far, but constantly having to readjust my lee measure to stay where i want it is grinding me. i'll be happy to be more consistent and productive with this setup if it works as i hope it will. got it for $210.00 which i think is a pretty good deal.

I have one and like it. It works fine. I have had it consistantly go 1/10gr over with certain powders the way I use it. That is easy enought to cure. I just dial in 1/10gr less. Actually it matters little since it is a 55-70+gr load. I think you will like it. Also get a RCBS Uniflow(with both drums) or a Redding powder measure off e-bay and replace the lee one. I think you will find that you can throw an accurate charge. The secret is to take a 4-4.5" plastic funnel and cut the small end off about 1" from the main body. Then put it on top of the powder measure and fill it almost full. Then never let it get empty and you will get more uniform charges if you also use a consistant throw method.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

yessir, in comparison, the hornady averages around 250-290, and the smartreloader is between 190-220, so i'm pretty happy. at the time i was looking at the smartreloader for 205.99, or the lyman for 210, so i think i made out alright. should be here next week so i can try it out
