Case lube question...

I have been using an old tube of RCBS case lube and their lube pad for 308 and 223 for reloading on a single stage. After resizing I re-tumble to clean the lube off. Am I behind the times on lube? I see other types of lube out there now and was wondering how they work? Any better than the old RCBS jelly lube worked into the lube pad?

Dillon spray lube, cardboard box, 400 pieces of .223. Much easier.

Hornady one shot spray lube is awesome, you gotta try it ($10) from basspro

Even though I sometimes still use the pad w/ RCBS lube sometimes, I have more or less moved on.

Try Imperials wax. Good stuff. I use it for bottle neck brass. For straight wall, I use Hornady One Shot. Works great with carbide dies (butter...)

How is the Dillon and Hornady lube applied? And does it rquire removal before priming?

I used Hornady One Shot the last couple of times around and I really like it. I did not have to remove it afterwards. I found it to be clean and easy to use.

I used the rcbs stuff for a while. it was good, but took forever to apply. then I tried some one shot, and promptly threw my lube and pad away.

I used the spray lubes for years before I discovered Imperial Sizing Wax - now it's the only one I use.

I'll be the only weirdo I guess. I use the Lee lube mixed with water to thin it and a pad.

It's what I started with and works good for me. I tried the spray, got a couple of nasty stuck cases, and gave up.

More people have stuck cases with Hornady one-shot than all other case lubes combined.

Imperial is the way to go if you are sizing one case a time on a single stage press.

For volume lubing, I use dillon lube and a handfull of cases in the shallow lid of a shoebox.
For automated lubing on a progressive press, I use a modified RCBS lube die and RCBS lube.
