How hard is it find 45acp components??

I'm going to take a two months of to work on my pistol shooting. i like to be a a uspsa gm someday and i figured is not going to happen by me just wanting it to happen
So in this two months I'm hoping to shoot about 20k rounds by practicing Monday through Friday and shooting as many matches on the weekends as i can find.
my question to you guys is how hard is it to get components, most importantly pistol primers? it seem that just a few months ago you couldn't get them anywhere....
is it realistic to buy enough components in the next few weeks to be able to produce this amount of ammo? or am I SOL?
i figure if I buy the powder and primers in bulk the hazmat charge might not be to big of a deal.
anyway if it helps any I'm in So Cal.

Lately there's been no issue for a low volume reloader in my neck of the woods unless you're picky on your powder, but 20k is something you'll need to be ready for! One of the local shops had thousands of primers in stock the other day, but right now I've got about 5k of CCI LP primers and didn't look close. If I had an ambitious a plan as yours in the works I'd want those components on hand.

I haven't seen 231 or HP-38 in ages. I bought a pound of green dot a while back to get me through and it worked fine, now I'm back to some Unique.

For 20k? Buy what you need before you start your program.

to be honest I'm also just starting my journey into reloading....

so I'm going to be buying everything in the next couple of weeks including my press manual's, and doing lots of cramming...

I'm just hoping to avoid the disappointment of spending 1500 dollars in equipment and then not being able to find any components anywhere.....

real easy, go in the gagrage, there is a cabnet over the workbench, on the top shelp are components to make about 5k rounds.

buy online...prices are usually cheaper, no sales tax either. Haz mat fee fee though is something to consider. you may have to buy from more than one place to get all your components. At least thats what I did. Search the forums for coupons as well. Midway has some now and cabelas has 5$ shipping on a $150 order.

20K once fired mixed headstamped brass
Around $3,470+-

Lol I spent all day today looking a t prices and running numbers
Came up with a very similar number.
And I found a great app for the iPhone that helps you run the numbers it's "called hand load".
Anyway I'm 99% sold on the dillon 650xl.
I'm estimating my equipment cost is going to be around 1600 (case feeder,powder check, plus all the extra stuff like the case cleaner, etc).
I'm planning to spend about 5000 all together (not including target stands, and targets)in this training adventure.

10+ large primer pick up tubes, spare parts for you gun, .45ACP Case Gage Dillon part # H90-15166, Dillon spare parts kit #H90-21146, Strong mount, bullet tray and the aluminum roller handle.
You don't need the low powder sensor because the powder measure is at eye level.

Do not believe the hype about being able to load 600 rounds an hour, just take your time and get some nice and better than most factory loaded ammo

I ment the powder check system that prevents squibs and double charges.
I figure it's a good fail safe for some an as inexperienced as me.

I'm considering all the stuff you mentioned.
I Checked out all the prices at Dillon, with all the extra stuff (including manuals and the 650xl dvd), it came to a litle over 1500.
Thanks for the link to bullet works, they prices seem very resonable.
I think I will purchase the powder and primers from Natchez I'm looking at titegroup and Cci primers.

The loads I shoot now are loaded by a fellow shooter who sells them to me I like to match my load to his.
200gr lswc 4.9 gr titegroup. I'll have to ask him where he gets his bullets
I'll check the other links tonight and tommorrow and see if I can find a better deal on primers and powder.
