      .40 cal should work best

        Yep!

OP, it depends on what you want to do with the gun. If you need ammo for self defense, something that will stop a man, you should look at some hollowpoints. Lots of people prefer the Winchester Ranger T series or the SXT series.

If you are just looking for ammo to practice shooting at the range, grab the cheapest stuff you can find. I like the Federal champion ammo from Walmart, $13.95 for a box of 50 is hard to beat for .40S&W unless you reload. I also like the steel cased Wolf ammo.

I have and have had a few glocks over time. I feed them anything and everything without worry. But for best accuracy you will need to experiment. My 22 and 17 hated/Hated CCI non brass case ammo

Yup, Loves to eat em all.

Recently I was at the range one of the staff comes out with a G22 showing someone else and I over heard. It was a squib midway down the barrel. The ammo was a recent lot of American Eagle.

I'll be target practicing. My dad got me a box of American eagle but haven't shot it yet. I do have a small box of roloads also and they are a silver case. I'm not super familiar with guns and ammo and this is
                my first gun(g22).

The absolute "BEST" ammo would be that which you taylor make to work best in your gun. Ever gun shoots a little differently and likes different ammo best. If you are good enough to tell the differences, you'll want to load your own or, at least, have a commercial reloaded make rounds to your exact specifications.

as stated previously. get the cheapest stuff you can. it's a glock it'll eat anything

with that said...stay away from anything with lead bullets. the rifling in glocks will lead excessively, and can cause pressure spikes. jacketed bullets all the way.
