Best range ammo for Glock 17?

What is the best Glock 17 ammo for the range? I hear HPR is decent.

I've shot Win, Fed, Blazer Brass. All shot without any hiccups.

I recommend using 9mm ammo in that gun.

I find CCI Blazer Brass and Spear Lawman as good pracitce ammo.

For Defense I prefer Federal Hydra Shoks and Speer Gold Dots.

Non-lead 9mm. Really. If you're plinking, just about anything except for hardcast will shoot in that gun.

I've shot Remington UMC, PMC, Fiocchi, federal, winchester white box, wolf and it all works great.

I shoot the crap out of my g17 and one thing I have found out is that weak loads are not enough to make the slide work properly. I bought some reloads at a gun store and had nothing but problems. Switched to factory ammo and it shot like a champ. Started reloading, at starting powder levels, lots of problems , Upped the charge a bit (within manual stated limits) and back to running like a champ. G17 is a workhorse, but you have to feed it some good oats!

                      That's only partially correct.

40 S&W glocks don't fully support the case.
The 9mm glocks do fully support the case.

i've shot reloads out of my G17 for years now. i reload my own of course. but i found it VERY reliable even when i'm using starting powder loads of titegroup. i'm about to try some HP38 loads soon but i've found that the best (and cheapest) is the Winchester white box 100 pack. they used to sell for like 17 bucks but they're like 30 bucks now. so maybe you can find something cheaper.

Agree with all but the Wolf, never tried their HG ammo (bad experience with Wolf .223, done with it).

                            That's only partially correct.

40 S&W glocks don't fully support the case.
The 9mm glocks do fully support the case.

Well, I see a 9mm belly, a 40S&W belly and even a slight .357SIG belly. But these are 2nd and 3rd gen Glock barrels.. Maybe the 4th gens are better?

All 3 of those pictures show some case WEB, but it's not the web that's the problem.
It's when the ramp is extended even FURTHER forward of the web that real problems pop up.
Many a 1911 has been over-ramped to cause the same problems too so this is not just a glock thing.

Look at an HK USP barrel and you will find the same thing.
