    45acp, Revolver Specific Load

I use W231 5.3-5.6 grains in my Semi's and it burns clean but in my Revolvers its dirty. I am thinking of HS-6 for revolver. Anyone have a clean revolver powder they like? I will making a revolver load for falling plates and pins.

You don't say which bullet you're using, but it looks like 200gr. You might try Clays, burns clean, recoil not bad and inexpensive. Don't care much for HS-6 myself, recoil seems sharp, but that's personal.

Some powder is dirty than others, I go for performance and accuracy in choice of powders. Clean burning or dirty I don't care since the guns get cleaned.

HS-6 will burn less completely than 231 at 45 ACP pressures, hence more dirty.

I need to clarify, do you recommend Clays or Universal Clays. Yes, I would be using 200gr. plated RN.

          TIA

The unburned powder starts to slow down the reload time when dealing with moon clips.

              Have you tried Bullseye?

I like WST since it burns fairly completely in the loads I have made with it. It's a bit of a fast powder to use for 230 gr and might be a bit under factory spec unless you push top loads, but it is awesome for 200 gr swc bullets.
