    Best 9mm ammo?

Just wanted some feedback on some of the better brands for 9mm ammo (FMJ, JHP, etc) and for the best price as well. I see ranges from about $9.99/50 rd box to $13.99/50 rd box? Any ammo that I should stay away from?

    Thanks in advance!

If your talking about self defense for that kind of money the +P Golden Sabers are the best bang for the buck. If your talking about bulk shoot at paper then Wolf is hard to beat, but will run dirty and hard on your gun, other option in Winchester white box

      My reloads!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

The one that your gun likes and you can shoot accurately. Go out and but different brands and shoot them. Same with reloads..... you have to try it to find out which combo works.

I am now reloading 9 mm, but so far I have had no problem with reliability buying loaded ammo based on price. I do want brass though, not steel. I pick up the brass when I can.

I have gotten the best deals from sale prices by Cabela's, running again currently as a matter of fact, $11.99/50, better by 1000. I also have done well with bulk reloads from Lucky Gunner. Those were Military Ballistics Industries. I also beat online .45 ACP prices by negotiating with a local shop to buy 20 boxes at a time (full case), getting 10% off. You could try that too.

I have had two 9mm guns and neither was ever particular about what I fed it. I tended toward Sellier & Bellot, but those are tougher to reload with tight primer pockets that require an extra step. For stuff that I will shoot up and leave, the S&B is a favorite and often on sale. It is a Czech brand, and they must hit the market in waves when a boatload hits the dock.

Armscor from the Philippines is another one that will be found on the lower side of price ranges.

I like the 124 and 147 grain bullets, but the 115 is the one most easily found for the best price. I use the 147 for minor caliber in bowling pin matches, in which it is very obvious what heavier bullets can do. American Eagle is what I have used in 147 so far. It's not like I had a big selection in that weight and plain round nose.

Anything for paper killing, go heavy for HD. My 9 likes everything, always wants more and calls out to me when I try to ignore her. I can hear her now "Luuuuuuuugarrrrrrrrrrrr I waaaaaaaaaaaaant youuuuuuuuuuuu.

            Coming my love.

            Gotta go.

              Yup, a +1 for that.
Otherwise the cheap Federal at Walmart for shooting paper.

For your run of the mill paper punching, plinking, and even competition Winchester white box, Remington green box, or Federal red box would suffice.

Now for home defense a good bonded design like Speer Gold Dot or similar but you do pay a little bit more.
                      .
Bottom line any bullet design is no good if it only hits flesh and exits without hitting any vital organ.
