ID rifle type by shell casing

    gents,
wondering what type of rifle this shell casing came from:
IMI 308 case with rifling type indentation running longitudinally from case mouth to mid-length. Has a dent similar to ejection dents on semiauto rifles like FAL's. H&K's perhaps? thanks.

I used to have an HK 91 that made those marks.

Yep. HK-91 has a fluted chamber.

Weird , ive never seen a case have any sort of marks like that. Maybe a little fire forming , but no flute marks like that.

A lot of HK weapons have fluted chambers to assist extraction. Normally you see powder marks in that pattern but that one looks a bit on the overpressure side.

Wow. That gun didn't just shoot the ammo, it exhausted its store of ire and contempt upon the brass too!

I wondered why folks say the HK91's don't leave brass reloadable... my PTR-91 doesn't do anything approaching that horrible to brass!

yup, that's H&K-chewed brass. I have two 9mm pieces from the MP5 i fired in Vegas.

My P7m8 also does that, but it doesn't hurt anything.

wow that sucks. You can kiss that case good bye. I have never seen a case like that but I'm glad I now know about HK's.

HKs use a fluted chamber to assist in proper ejection of empty cases.

                          hk

it is an hk. g3 or 91 but not only the fluting but creasing the brass across due to violent ejection. love the rifles but passed on a 91 cause i cant reload the stuff.
