I was just prepping some new brifle brass- going through all the stuff i usually do when i noticed that the new primer pocket uniformer on my case prep center is taking wayyy tooo much material from the primer pockets. i should have measured it before, but i just knew that RCBS had it set right since they tell you to never adjust the cutting depth- and my other uniformer from them was right on the money. however, now i have about 30 cases with pockets that measure 0.156, about 0.033 to deep for the WLRM primers i use (0.0118). should i just shoot these and not worry or should i scrap the brass snow and save myself the agony later of having to pull bullets.....? i'm on the anal retentive side of reloading....

Could always resize and prime (no powder) ) one piece of brass, load it and see what happens when you pull the trigger.

Isnt the primer seater punch on a dillon adjustable? Just dont seat the primer as deep and hope it still sets off the powder and put them in a separate box from your match ammo.Comment

the depth of the primer seating punch is adjustable on the RCBS die i use. i'm with joe on this one... cross my fingers and hope they fire and dedicate the brass as "plinking brass."Comment

Load 3 and shoot them. If they don't shoot, scrap the lot. If they shoot, mark the cases (I use a magic marker on the primers and or bases) use them until the pockets get loose. I don't think .024" over max depth(.132")would cause a safety issue, although the only thing I could see is they may get light or no firing pin strikes.Comment

If you have to toss them, PM me, I'll give you 50 rds. of once fired .308 brass(in bolt guns) of your choice of GMM,Winchester or Remington. I have a very good supply of Federal GMM.Comment
