I have used the Redding 2400 and I like it for match brass prep. I bought several of these for various calibers and they are a bargain:

We make top quality firearm cleaning supplies for most rifle's and it's at a fair price.

    You'll need the power adapter:

Midway carries them. These work just like the Giraud, but do not chamfer or debur. You'll have to do that separately.

I bought a Giraud last month so I'm done using anything else!

I have an old Redding kinda like the picture posted above and converted to turn with a drill ,it works good . If I did not have the Redding i would get a Dillon setup for the large quantity ammo i reload as case trimming really sucks . Not only trim but chamfer yuck.

Just to state it up front, I HATE case prep, but recognize its importance.

I have an RCBS powered trimmer for the small jobs, but broke down and bought the Giraud and I am extremely happy I did. I have the equipment for both .223 and .308, it is not hard to convert. I would never go back to the RCBS for mass quantities, the Giraud is great! The Gracey costs less and also gets you a quality mass production unit. I may get one for primer pocket uniforming......

Everyone should have a manual trimmer, because you never know when you might add a caliber to your repertoire. But if you are going to shoot a lot of one caliber, definitely hold your nose and part with the cash for a good powered trimmer, aka Gracey or Giraud.

I own a Giraud and a Dillon RT-1200. The 1200 gets the most use, because you can crank through literally thousands of cases in a couple hours.

The Giraud is nice though, in its own way. I like the cut contours more on the Giraud and would use it if I were doing match grade ammo. However, the Dillon is perfectly acceptable and does the job, only at ludicrously fast speed.

I also own an RCBS hand trimmer which I've mounted to a board. If I'm doing small batches, I'll lay it across the arms of my armchair and get some exercise while watching TV. Of course, I resize using the Lee hand press first, so I'm working out two muscle sets instead of one.
