40 S&W brass case life

In another thread I was touting the longevity of .45 case life ( up to 50 times I have been told ) I have personally never had a case failure in over 6000 reloads
with a brass stock of around 1200 cases in rotation.

My .357 cases average 3 to 4 reloads before case failure ( 35000psi )

40S&W has the same max pressure of 35000psi

What is the life expectacy of 40 S&W?

I am considering adding 40S&W to my reload stock

I am neither a lawyer or a politician, therefore I tend to lean towards reality

You should be able to get more reloads out of 357 magnum than 3 or 4. Should be getting to the 6-8 range unless you are way hot roding them. you should be going into the 7-10 range with the 40s&w. With how cheap 1 once fired 40 s&w brass I would not worry about it.

Most of my .357 brass goes through my dessert eagle as well as revolvers
The brass gets pretty beat up. Realistically I get 4-5 reloads. Nickel cases even less.

Need a full load to fully cycle the action back

Did not the about an autoloader. I can see how that can be hard on the brass

Its going to depend on what kind of brass you have and what you shoot it out of. I buy the once fired stuff on line and get about 3-4 reloads out of it before it gets lost or in the case of speer brass, the primer pockets get to loose and I don't feel like reloading it.
