    hazmat fee on ammuntion orders?????

Just a simple question. I have never ordered ammuntion over the internet, just powder, bullets and primers. Do they Charge a Hazmat fee for loaded ammuntion orders? I'm looking to buy some .223 stuff. So, I'm trying to figure out my costs.

    Thanks, Steve

Hazmat fee should not be charged on loaded ammunition.

Hazmat fees are charged on some types of loaded ammo. But, since those types of ammo (API, Tracer, ST, APIT, Raufus (sp?),etc.) are not legal for most of us in Ca, it is a moot point. You should not be charged hazmat for non-pyrotechnic ammo.

Also add in that if you order from a CA company, you will usually pay state taxes along with shipping.

Even if you buy from out of state, you are legally required to pay a California use tax. You need to declare you OOS purchases on your state income tax forms.

No Haz Mat on ammo but I found some sellers require an adult signature when it shows up. I have ordered some ammo from Midway and UPS just left it on the porch.
