    Reloading Question

    Hey everyone,
I'm new here, recently got into reloading, mostly .45 ACP and .223. Recently I decided to start reloading for my 7mm-08 and a friend gave me a couple boxes of Remington Accutip 140g bullets he had kicking around his garage. My problem is I can't find any reloading data for that bullet. Can I use data for a similar cartridge, same weight, bullet size, ballistic tip etc...? Or does anyone happen to know where I can find the information online? None of my manuals seem to list that particular bullet. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the help but I think I worded my question wrong. I've found plenty of loads for the 7mm-08, just not any using the Remington Accutip bullet... Is one 140g bullet the same as any other in terms of how much powder you put behind it? The Nosler website lists a charge of 37 to 41 grains of IMR 4895 for their 140g Ballistic Tip and Accubond bullets, which seem to be very similar to the Remington bullets I'm trying to load since they are the same weight and as far as I can tell extremely similar in design. In the past I have always made my bullet and powder choices based on loads that had already been worked up and published in a manual but despite using Google countless times I cannot find a load which lists these Remington bullets specifically. I'd hate to see them sit in the garage due to my inability to find a recipe for them. I guess I just need to know if one 140g bullet is essentially the same as any other when it comes to determining the charge to put behind it. Thanks!

Since I reload for pistol to me a Winchester 230 gr. FMJ is the same as the Nosler 230gr FMJ bullet and they both get the same powder charge behind them. Don't be afraid to experiment will load development just start at the lower end of the powder charge scale and work up. You rifle will tell you which load it likes.

          Thanks Chief!

I figured they were pretty much the same so I'm going to load some of them up tonight with a few different charges and fire them tomorrow. My rifle likes the factory Remington Accutips but at $45 a box I can't really bring myself to use them for target practice and I want to find a round I can use for targets as well as hunting. Thanks again for the advice!

            The nosler data will work.
If you have any Win748 or 760 you can get more speed and excellant accuracy. In my Tikka over my chronograph I get Win factory 140gr 2677FPS. With a 140gr NoslerBT or PAR and 43.5grs IMR4895 I get 2780FPS. With the same bullets and 45grs of Win748 I get 2840FPS and with 49grs of Win760 I get 2810FPS. The win and IMR powders all shoot well. I get cloverleaf groups with the Win748 and use less powder than 760 so that is my load.

If you go with the 120gr BT bullet which is said to be super in the 7-08 then Win 760 and Varget are best for speed with 748 only slightly behind and they shoot well for me also.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Thanks for the info, the store here in town actually just got a bunch of components in, powder, primers, etc so I was gonna buy some up before it's gone. I'll get some 748 and give that a shot so I can compare to the 4895. Thanks for the tips!

I did forget to say those are max loads so drop back a gr or 2 and work up to them.
