    Hornady 55G load data please.

The only bullets I could find were Hornady .224 55g SP for .223
The load data for JSP's from my Lee manual for Win 748 is 25.0 to 27.3. at 1.260 OAL.
From Hogdons' site. 26.3 Max at 2.220 OAL. reduce by 10%
Anything over 2.240 locks up and scores the bullet in my Bushy 16" carbine. 2.220 chambers and extracts smoothly and is evedentally the correct OAL. But the max charge is questionable. Does anyone have accurate data for the Hornady 22cal .224 55G SP #2265? TIA

Thanks for trying. What do you use? I have a lb of varget I haven't worked up a load for yet. It's been sitting here for a month. I have a few lbs of 748 left.
I've worked up a load for Montana Gold 55g FMJ's with 26.5g of 748, 2.250 OAL at 2900 ave. FPS. With 7 holes in the 10 ring. 10 rnds at 100Yds with a 3x9x40 scope. Yea, 3 through the same holes.

Now I am starting over due to availability. And I can't find Hornady data. Why are they so tight with it? Doesn't make sense. Hornady data is not even in the Hornady books! WTF? I'm confused.

i use aa2230, but i cant find any data for 40gr v-max, the lee book says for 55 gr jacketed bullets with win 748 min 26.2 gr oal 2.165, max 26.2. not too sure what's up with that though, as min and max are the same.

          I saw that too. Wierd.
I still can't find data for these bullets. Sierra has a similar 55g SP, at 25.1 to 26.5. But the OAL is 2.250. This hits the lands and pressure will differ. because 2.220 gives me a .020 jump. I worked up test loads from 25g to 26.8g at .2 grain intervals. I just wish I had some idea of the max before I fire them.
Why would Hornady make a bullet without posting any data? WTF?

In my 7th Edition Hornady manual there's a 55 grain #2265 SP with COL 2.200", for Win 748 the max load is 26.4 grain which gives 3200 fps. Are you used to having more data?
