Reloading inside my man cave

Just wanted to get some opinions on where some of you guys/gals reload in your home. I have an extra bedroom in my house that I redecorated and made into my personal "Man Cave"

I was going to set up my station in my garage, but my garage gets up to 100 degrees in the summer, so that won't work. I have a nice black top wood table with stainless steel legs that would be perfect, but would like to keep in my man cave.

Do I have to worry about any kind of explosion if I keep my powders, primers etc... in the bedroom? I would also be reloading in the same room.

If I had an extra room I'd reload in it for sure. I'm going to install a wall air conditioner in my garage before this summer.

I reload in my room, all the things a man needs is in here beside a woman and a kitchen

Bed : Check!

Computer Desk : Check!

Closet with Safe : Check!

Dresser for clothes : Check!

Tool Box : Check!



It gets to be 90* or so in the summer in the house, no AC as of now Other than that I love my room,

I reload in my spare room, in fact, I spent the better part of this afternoon loading. Sometimes I worry about the noise (650 w/casefeeder) so I don't do it early or late in the day. I keep extra powder and primers out in the garage.
It's a rental, by the way.

All my reloading stuff is in the garage. I know sometimes its hot as hell and sometimes it"s freezing cold. I consider myself an outdoors man. ( even though in the garage is not technically outdoors). I have a vise on my work bench as most of us do, and I made a bracket that I place in the vise that supports my press. I havn't seen any thing like it in the magizenes or on the internet. But the point is that when I need my bench for other uses the whole reloading station can be moved in a second. Besides my dog (yellow lab) is out there and likes my company! After the reloadings done, a fat cigar, a cold beer, and some conversation with the dog. You can't do that in the house!

Raises hand for living room reloading. Not worried in the least about it. Much more comfy that the garage IMHO.

Once the garage gets cleaned up the wife thinks it's all going to be done out there. Little does she know......

When our 2 kids moved out my wife took one of the rooms as hers and I the other as my man cave, gun room etc. Thats where its done.

Built a room inside the garage so I could have AC/heat.Uses less than a quarter of the garage.

No garage to use, so I made a leaf for the dining room table and bolted my press and powder measure to it. When I'm not using it, it goes into a closet, and the wife is happy.
I also use a big dirty towel as a sort of big coaster that keeps tools and such from messing up the table. So far, this set up has worked out nicely.

The most important part is that my wife knows not to go near the table when I'm "doing my bullet thing"... can't risk a static shock, which is a risk if you have carpet.

If you are putting your setup on a metal table in a room with carpet... you might want to invest 10 bucks on an anti-static wrist band.

That sounds great, you must live close to the ocean

Even if I opened the garage door on a blazing day, the temp would still be the same lol.

As for the others, I don't have carpet in my house, all tile

Mancave reloading is the best , you end up reloading a lot more all year round because of the enviroment ( Vs your standard uninsulated garage ) ...try reloading in an uninsulated garage at 3am in Dec wearing only shorts .

Also, another benefit for the reloaders with spouses...you are within talking distance in case they want to ask you a question or just share a thought .

Even though my wife rarely talks to me when she knows I am reloading , with her home office in the next room to my mancave she doesnt feel like she is alone in the house.

If this room of yours is carpeted just make sure to vaccum regulary. Powder can acculilate over time and it wont take much to light up.

I challenge you to take a scrap piece of carpet, pour a tablespoon of smokeless powder on it, rub it in and TRY to get it to light with a match or a lighter, let alone sparks.
Then try to light another piece of the same carpet but without any powder for comparison.
Take video of this and post your results.

I know a few reloaders that smoke cigars, pipes and cigarettes while reloading with both progressive and hand loading as well. All together looking at 60 years worth of reloading without a single accident. I reload in my room and I vacuum every time after I reload because I do not want my dogs or cats to eat the powder and or eat any spent primers.
