.40 140 grn load help?

I asked this question on a reloading site and got crickets, so I thought I would ask on the CA site. I have bought 1,000 Missouri Bullet company 140 grn lead bullets and am looking for a good clean load using Unique powder, fed brass, WIN SP primers. I see that some reloaders use between 5.5-7.2 grns of unique. Im looking for a good plinking load around 850-950 fps to shoot out of my S&W semi auto #411. I have been using unique for 38/357 and have a bunch of it and also been loading many other CAL'S for over a year. I'm asking for help with this load because there isn't alot of load data out for unique and 140 grn bullets. all of my books only show 155 grn and up. Thank you, CAGWP.

I would use a mid range load for the 155's and then see where you stand with a chrono. You can almost always use data for the next heavier bullet with a lighter one. Generally the lighter bullet will have lower pressure and a bit more velocity as the next heavier bullet.

I have a bit of experience in this vein in that I used 140 gr RN's from bear creek for years utilizing Ramshot Competition, IMR 700x, and Alliant Solo 1000. Unique is a tad slow for the light bullet loads in the 40 S&W IMO. I was mainly firing these in a S&W 610, but had good luck in a Sig 229 with a 13# recoil spring as well as in a Para P16 withthe same weight recoil spring.
