    Brass tumbling rant: 50beo + 223

So, I decided to tumble a load of brass today, and figured that 50 Beowulf would be too big for 223 to get wedged inside of. So, I tumbled the two calibers together.

MISTAKE! I tumbled about 105 pieces of Beowulf brass, and when I pulled it all out, approximately 100 of them had a 223 casing nice and wedged into them.

Everything's all nice and shiny, as always, but it was somewhat annoying pulling the 223 cases out of the Beowulf cases.

haha, the other week I had a 40s&w case in on of my 45acp's and it fed all the way down the feed tube to my depriming station. I was really cramming the handle and it wasn't coming out doubled up the way it was.

40s&w is satans caliber..bending over for nothing everytime when I'm brass scrounging.

I've never used them, but Lyman markets mesh bags that you use to segregate brass in a tumbler. They call them "Brass Baggies" and their list price is $5.25 for 12.

They're the yellow rectangles in the package

Brass Baggies-Allows you to keep different batches of cases separate during the cleaning process. Use inside Tumbler while cleaning.

I just save the plastic baggies from fruit/veggies. You know, the stuff that onions and apples come in. The stronger ones will last a tumble or two. The lyman ones (I have two packages of 'em) will last 4 or 5 tumbles before they start breaking. I double bag the grocery store ones to be on the safe side. While I don't mix brass sizes if they can fit one in the other, I do seperate out different batches (headstamp, times fired) and it works. It is also easy to just lift out the bag and pour out the media (wearing lead filtering mask) so I don't need a seperator either.

bwahahah, I did this to one of the regulars at the range yesterday. He kept bending over and picking up my .40s&w cases. He was shooting .45acp and he reloads. Everytime he got one of mine he'd mutter dammit under his breath and toss the case.
