    bullet resizing

I have some 7.62X54R real Russian AP ammo that is unsafe to use and I'll be pulling bullets/powder out. Is there a way to resize .311 bullets to .308 size? Thanks.

Yeah its called Swagging but the equipment is not cheap and its not very good for accuracy. Unless you have many many thousands of bullets you want to resize for just general plunking I would sell what you have to someone looking for .311 bullets and buy some 308 ones.

Swaging. Rhymes with paging. Found here.

very hard to do with jacketed bullets. with cast bullets you just use a resizing die. i would sell them and get the correct bullets you need.

it's cheaper to buy .308" bullets than to resize/swage them.

It's not as hard as people are making it out to be. In fact, many surplus component dealers were selling resized 54R bullets for about $5 moe than they were selling .311 bullets for. But, for a DIY meathod, it would be very time consuming.

You can buy a swage die from CH4D for about $80 and resize them in your reloading press. Simple.
