223,308 POWDER?

I know and like Varget for both 223,308. Is there a different powdwer that works good with both? TIA

Ramshot TAC works in both. Its cheap and I like the results.

I've been using Hodgdon H-335 for .223 and .308 for over 35 years.

H-335 in the .308 will show muzzle flash, but it is accurate and gives good velocity in bullet weights of 168 or less. I use a lot for 147 FMJ plinking loads.

Winchester 748 will also work in both, except it can be temperature sensitive.

748, AA2520 and TAC should all be comparable. If you look at the load data for them in .308 they should be damn near identical for 168 and 175 bullets although velocities are a little different. IMR4320 is another one to try although I never hear about it I have used it in 223 and 308 and it worked well.

I had the same experience with AA2460 although velocities were a little low with heavier .308 bullets I think it would make a great 223+308 powder for someone who only shoots lighter bullets in both. It is very fine and meters out exactly, and over a chrono 40 grains w/175 bullet in my 18" .308 was 2399, 2405, 2410, 2393, etc. It was also very accurate. I want to try 42 grains of it but that's beyond the factory max.
