Got primers? Bend on over, buddy...

Ever hear of a group buy? I buy 10-15K primers at a time along with up 32 pounds powder each time I make an order at Grafs or PV. Don't waste you time and money with 1K at a time. Get together with some friends and bulk order.

the only problem is the supply has not met up with the demand. No online retailers have primers in stock...or else at the ones I need.....

Think that's WTF? Our local store wanted 7 or 8 bucks a sleeve of 100 a few months ago. He was telling new guys who didn't know any better that that was the going rate. Grade A crook. Won't do him the courtesy of stepping foot into his shop.

Just hold out a little longer, prices are dropping pretty good.

Primers were selling for $35.00 or more...but they are now down to $28.00 in many places. (Including the last gun show in the SF Bay Area).

Some folks say that higher prices are cool, as that is the American way. (You price it at what the market will bear. If you don't want it for that price, then don't buy it). But I say that some places gouged the heck out of their clients, just because the opportunity arose. (Not everyone, but a bunch of them did). And personally, I remember who they were, and do not patronize them any longer.

If you have a difference of opinion, that's cool. These are just mine.

Prices are dropping.

And if you want to save nicely, buy in bulk. (5000 minimum).

I have been buying CCI small pistol primers for 34.99 a 1000 locally and the supply seems to be improving.

Well... OK. This Obamanable state of affairs ain't gonna last forever. A lot of people are gonna remember who gouged & who didn't. Never thought I'd actually PREFER to go to Turner's before a real gun store.

Effit anyway. They don't let my dog in their store.

Oh yeah... if ya REALLY need pistol primers, they have 'em. No place else I frequent has any.

The only time I would set foot in El Cajon Gun Exchange is when I need a odd ball, I need it now item for reloading. Other than that I stay away. First time I set foot in that store I was accused by one of it's employee for voting for democrap Gray Davis. I placed the items I was going to purchase on the counter and made a 180 degree turn towards the door. I sure miss Wiesser's in National City. They had decent to good prices. But they closed doors around 2000 or 2001.

Well, El Cajon Gun Exchange may be $41/k but at least you can get them there. Try buying primers at any other gun store in San Diego. I have found none here in SD except for at El Cajon. Turners has had none in stock for the last 6 months.

In times of shortage it is higher price that brings more supply. It's not price gouging. If primers were $50/k can you imagine how many gun shops would again start to stock and sell primers? Or would do everything they could to get primers from abroad? Today, many of the gun stores here in San Diego don't even carry much reloading stuff anymore. I have to buy all my stuff off the internet.

If primers were $41/k everywhere in California then most of the primers in this country would be flowing into this state. As the supply met demand the price would then fall back down to $3?/k.
