    better 8mm

What is the better 8mm ammo, Turk, Yugo Romanian or????? What is next. I found some 8 X 57 in my storge the other day with no marks on the box but it was head stamped " FNM 73-2" Does anyone have an idea what it might be? I am guessing that it is Portuguese 1973 manufacture????
    Thanks

FNM is indeed Portuguese. Their ammo isn't bad either.

I'd say the romo stuff id the best, as far as primers not being too hard.. I don't know about the port sounds like you should try it out and report back.. B2B

Here is my best to worst listing of surplus 8mm from the past 10 years...

        Yugo M75 "sniper"
        German pre-war 1930's
        Yugo M38 from 1940
Hirtenberg boxer primed from the early 1980's
        FNM Portuguese from the 1970's
        Yugo 1950's
        Romanian 1970's
        Greek 1930's
        Czech fake 1944
Turk 1930's and 40's (except for 1947) However, this stuff is better when fired in a long Mauser.
        Ecuadorian 1950's
