Shipping ammo via USPS

Ship it via usps and on all four sides of the box write ORM-D with a box around it.

You should mark the box, "ORM-D" and "Small Arms Ammunition" and you are suppose to go to a fedex/ups location not a drop off center, like a mailbox etc. I reviewed UPS' documentation regarding hazmat and there is no indication that you cant drop them off anywhere, the employees of the small stores usually dont know the rules and regs. Short story, mark the box and just drop it off.

ORM-D labels in .jpg format

Those ORM-D labels are not the right ones for shipping ammo. As others have mentioned, the package must be labeled with "Cartridges, Small Arms" next to "ORM-D". The labels that say "Consumer Commodity" next to "ORM-D" are not legal to use on ammo shipments.

(a) Each non-bulk packaging containing a material classed as ORM-D must be marked on at least one side or end with the ORM-D designation immediately following or below the proper shipping name of the material. You only need one of these labels on each package. You don't need to put one on each side.

Ammo shipments also need to comply with some other packaging requirements in order to be eligible for the ORM-D shipping exemptions.

UPS for me was a lot easier to deal with, go here and print some of the ORM-D labels and tape them on the box.

It should be noted that there is no significant price increase as well (just weight). I don't see why so many people are so afraid of shipping ORM-D packages.

bootcamp is right, there is no price difference and people should have zero fear of shipping ammo. I just box up the ammo securely, pay & print a label via the UPS web site, attach one ORM-D Cartridges-Small Arms label, take it to a UPS customer center and give it to the rep. He then gives me a drop off receipt with no discussion of what is in the box. Easy!
