    Brass processing service $25/1000

    $25 for 1000 (+ $9 shipping, up to 2k)

What do you guys think? I think it is not a bad deal.... tumbled, sized, trimmed, and deprimed....

The only thing he isn't doing yet is swaging of the crimped primer pocket.... I hope that he will do that soon...

Doesn't sound too bad. You know the guy has to have it all set up in one deal with an auto case loader so that all he needs to do is pull the handle one time and it cranks out a complete case. Heck, with the exception of the second neck sizing, I can and do accomplish that with my RL 550

Personally, I'd save the money and do it myself. If you don't have access to a decent tumbler, you can come by and use mine some weekend... I've got a Dillon tumbler that'll handle 500 or so at a shot.

      Here's what I do:

      1. Deprime brass while watching TV, sometimes. Sometimes I skip this step, sometimes not. I use a Lee hand press for this.
      2. Lock the tumbler in the bathroom so it's not as loud, and let it run its course with the (occasionally deprimed) brass.
      3. Sort the brass by headstamp while watching TV.
      4. I'll admit that I've never trimmed yet, however I do case gauge all the brass after loading.
      5. Sizing gets done by the Dillon sizing die, as does depriming if I didn't already do it.

If I can do work myself that others would charge me for, and I don't have something more profitable to do (i.e. my day job or a gun show or whatnot), I do it myself.

Man, I've got a Giraud and a progressive press with a case feeder. I should put those suckers to work!

I set up the RCBS case lube/decapper die in one station and the Dillon full length resizer and trimmer in the next station and with one pull of the handle it will lube, decap, full length resize, and trim. At this point all you have left to do is clean it up again, address the primer pockets, and load the stuff. The Dillon trimmer is hip, slick, and cool and I would not be suprised if it was what the other guy is using. The carbide cutter cuts the case mouth so square and bitchen that there really is no burr.

I agree, that seems pretty reasonable to me, if you value your time.

            He says:

Then the brass is trimmed to a length of 1.750".
Is this the correct or optimum case length, for reloading purposes?

(I know, I could look it up in my Lee reloading manual, but I am lazy)

FYI, he will also swage your military crimp for you now!(this is a brand new addition to his service from this week onwards) Price stay the same.

Basically, for $34/1000 total (based on 2k cases shipping), you will back get ready to reload brass.

              Not a bad deal.
