    varying bullet lengths?

Hello. I'm reloading some .308 155gr SMK palma's right now and was wondering if anyone else is noticing the varying lengths of the bullets. I noticed when I was seating them that my C.O.L was .02 difference in two rounds and started measuring my bullets. Is this normal? My A-max's are typically only about .002 difference.

Yes, it's normal. If you measure them using a bullet comparator that indexes off the ogjive instead of the tip, they will be alot closer.

I never use bullet tip when measuring the OAL. The OAL to the tip does not mean anything to me. I find the ogive length to the rifling, then back off maybe .005" - .010" to load. Ogive is better measuring reference than bullet tip.
