to shoot or not to shoot

I have some .303 hxp 73 greek surplus ammo i use for my Enfield, occasionally i find some with a little but of corrosion on the brass and have had no problems shooting them.

but once in a while i find some with a bit more corrosion on the brass. wasn't sure if it would be safe to fire.

so i thought maybe some of you can chime in and and let me know what your think.

+1 which is more important to you...not wasting a couple rounds or saving your gun from possible damage? I would toss them or pull the bullets/powder

If that was beer or food in there would you eat or drink it? I say no and toss them out or pull them and reload them into better brass

that's some of the worst looking ammo i've ever seen. looks like it's been beaten with the ugly stick. i'd pull the bullets and crush the brass so no one will ever be tempted to use that brass agaoin.

+10, pull the bullets, flush the powder down the toilet and throw away the brass. i've got a bunch of surplus 7.65 i'm going through a similar thing with. it was free, so i essentially got a bunch of free bullets. this stuff didn't look too bad, but only 1 out of 10 actually went bang so i said the hell with it. i've got good brass and new powder and primers, i just got a bunch of surplus bullets to load in them. yay! ditto with my 6.5 carcano. boy have i got a lot of bullets to pull....

Not wanting to drift this thread too badly.....does anybody use a brass tumbler to clean up lightly corroded or tarnished rounds before firing them??

Why not? Do you think there is a good chance of setting off a round by tumbling them or is there other issues? I'm curious.

Yes that's what it is. Doesn't give me a warm a fuzzy feeling.
