Finished my 1st load of reloading done.

I finished 75pcs of 223 reloads the other night, the powder weighing, charging and bullet seating took me at least 4-5 hours. I was using the Lee magnetic scale, which at first worked okay, after charging about 10 cases, I check to verify that the scale was still zero. I found out that its off so I ended up double checking all ten. This went on the whole 75 rounds till I gave up and went to bed. The next day I saw a RCBS Range Master 750 in the ads section and purchased it from a fellow Calgunner.

    I loaded 3 different loads 25pcs each.
    55gr. V-max
    IMR4198
    CCI 400
19grs min- 21.7 max is listed on my Lyman
    I loaded: 25pcs 19gr
    25pcs 19.5 gr
    25pcs 20 gr

Now here's my dilemma, should I leave all 75 reloads alone and just shoot it in 2 weeks or should I take them all apart and start from the beginning using the newly acquired scale.
    thanks

      next time..

Next time you start a load don't make so many of each grain charge. 10 is good for me, until I get close to max, then usually 5-6. You'll find yourself just wasting ammo. Once you find the drops that group good then you can experiment a little to make them group better. And then reload all your loads from there.

        do yourself a favor,

buy a RCBS Chargemaster, if your Bday is coming up, sign up for an account and you should be getting a email for birthday pricing.

punch in the charge you want, and it dispenses in about 10-20 seconds depending on the charge.

I got tired of the balance beam.

Don't second-guess yourself, man. All reloaders have that moment of hessitation when they pull the trigger on their first reloads. Maybe you'll even wince a little in preparation for a potential dissaster. However, very seldom do loaders blow themselves up. It's a relatively infrequent phenomenon... (emphasis on relatively infrequent )

Long story short: If I can do this for 18 years without blowing myself up, anyone can!!!

I second this. The two most time-consuming steps for me were trimming/chamfering/deburring (that's three in one I know lol) and weighing the powder charges. I at least took care of the latter with the Chargemaster combo. Literally cuts the time required for this step in half.

Just an FYI - If your scale moves or you change it's location, make sure you zero it again.

if you do not have $$ for the chargemaster, keep you eye out for a used RCBS 10-10 scale. It's one of the best beam scales. I have both the chargemaster and the 1010. When loading for my match 308 rounds, I dispense .2 blow the required load on the chargemaster and trickle on the beam.
