What reloading book would rookie need?
Im ONLY going to reload .308.
One load for Remington 700 in match grade.
One load in .308 for plinking FAL & AR-10 clone.
I have a RCBS press.

Loads that work....

Match load for Remington. I have a PSS in .308 Try IMR 4895 or WCC 846( BLC-2 ) at 43.5 to 44gr. OAL should be 2.84 . This will give you a deadly load out to 1000yds. using 175gr Sierra. 168gr won't carry accurately to 1000yds

150gr for fal....45gr of 4895 or 846. OAL should be 2.80

Have a nice day. Oh, and don't attempt to shoot the 150gr in the PSS if that's what you have. It will shoot ok, but won't give you the score you want.

I have herd a lot of good things about IMR 4895.
I shoot 168 gr. FGM in 700p.
I will try this power. Im only shooting 100 to 300 yards right now.

If you want a book on reloading, get the ABC's of reloading. The concepts in that book look dated, but pretty much all of it still applies today.

As far as a data manual, since you are loading for one specific cartridge only, you can get away with what's on the powder manufacturer's website. Plus, manufacturers like Hodgdon, IMR, Winchester, Alliant, Ramshot, etc, have free booklets that they give out with data for the most popular cartridges and bullets.

If you do get a manual, the Lyman manual is probably the most universal since it covers a lot of cartridges, bullets, and powders.

+1 on Lyman 48th edition. Very thorough. If you read through it a couple of times before you break open your reloading kit, you will be doing yourself a favor in the saving time and money department.
