Just curious if any of you have tried the Wolf or other steel cased .45acp ammo being sold over the internet. I've been a American Eagle faithful shooter for years, but now the prices have gone above what I'm willing to pay for play ammo. I'm looking for a low cost bulk ammo solution to allow me to start shooting more again. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Start reloading, the initial set-up will be somewhat expensive (depending on what press you get) but in the long run you will have all the ammo that you need to shoot on regular basis. You will not save money on the ammo, but you will shoot a hell of a lot more. Plus, you will not be held hostage by online or local retailers and always have a supply of ammo on hand. -
I guess I should have been more specific, I do reload. I'm looking for ammo that I can use for activities where I can't save my brass. When I go to a range myself, I save and reload what I shoot. That's one reason I really like the American Eagle rounds. When I take a class or want to shoot a match, I hate loosing all that brass. I'm looking for advice on a reliable round that I can go shoot 500+ rounds in an activity fairly cost effectively. I may just have to buy some of those Wolf rounds and try them myself. I was hoping that someone on here could say they used them and whether they were worth a darn."Shoot them big guns....You can see the holes better!!"

Watch for the deals. you should be able to get wolf 500rnds for about 200 bucks very regularly. if you watch good, like I do, you can get many other brands fmj for under $.40 a round to your door, brass cased.
Wolf works just fine. I clean after a range session, so I don't care it's a little dirtier than other brands.
Good luck.Comment

Here, you made me look...
This is not brass, but it is cheap.
$.36 a round, delivered to your door.
Not bad.Comment

If you already reload, I would just buy once-fired brass from people selling it online. I've seen a few deals happen lately were 1k of once-fired .45ACP brass was $35, a lot better than the $50-60 it was half a year ago. You'll still load for less than buying ammo from anywhere other than Walmart.
I hate leaving brass behind for training days too...Comment

All .45 ammo has gone up lately...
6.0 grains of unique under a 200gr projectile works great in my 1911. I can load them for about $10 a box if I scrounge brass from the range.Comment
