I see you mentioned that you don't have a case trimmer-
weeeelllll- there goes my suggestion of resizing 9mm Luger(9x19) brass to 9x18mm Makarov, but I have been doing it and works just fine in my Bulgy.
Hang in there somebody's bound to have some to donate.

Thanks puggins. I've seen the videos on how to do them but at the moment I may just buy some 9x18 rounds and reuse the brass.. How do you like your bulgarian mak?

You know-- the Makarov is definitely on my short list of favorite handguns. The Bulgarian has never failed me, has a nice finish, and is my shooter. Its good to see a group Bulgy's come into the US with CAI import marks(ie. good to go in CA) while not being C&R. Decent prices because for awhile there what people were asking for Maks were a tad high. I have a super clean East German Makarov that I take out the safe and ogle every once in a while. Then back in the safe she goes.
Funny thing is lately I have been eyeballing CZ-82's.........
        but that's another story.

Yes CZ-82 are very nice. From what I understand the the Czech's were 30-years late into leaving the Tokarev-based semi-autos before moving to the 9mmx18 Makaraov platform.

The CZ-82s are selling for less than $200 right now and do qualify for C&R. After all the shipping and transfers it can come close to $300.

              brass

I finally found some 9x18, hard to come by. I ordered some 9x18 police brass, it works but is actually the same size as 380 but the case length is the same as the 9 MAK. I also have some 9mm I'm going to trim. I have a p-64 polish, they say you can use 380 but its only at last resort.good luck finding the 9x18 MAK brass.

                I'd suggest buying a case trimmer :-).

It doesn't look that hard to trim the brass down. All you need are about $10 in tools.

Here's a website with some more info.

By the way, there's another thread where a guy has 500 9mm shells with too much bell. They might be good candidates for trimming down to Makarov length. You should PM him.

Starline Brass shows it in stock @ $73.70 for 500 count. Probably add shipping.
