Great to know. I have never tried to adjust mine that far. In that case, the K&M is the trimmer I would recommend to new DTC shooters! It is very consistant and not too expensive! The K&M should even work fine for initial trimming as long as you go a little slower. I just use a cordless drill and a drill mounted shell holder.Last edited by CSACANNONEER; 03-09-2010, 6:49 AM.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

Thanks for all the info. I am all set to do my initial trim of the BMG brass today. I am going to use a lathe to trim then chamfer the cases. I will take a pic or two to post. My spec sheet shows a case length of 3.81". Is that what you guys trim to? I noticed some of the DTC brass that I bought already loaded was a bit shorter. Thanks again for all the useful information. If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of payments.

That will work since they will shrink by about .015" when you fire form them. I trim mine to 3.800" and they take about 7-10 reload/fire cycles to grow long enough to need another trim.
Unless it's new brass, anneal them first, otherwise they will split when fired.
