    .45 acp

looking to shoot a bunch of .45 acp in a few springfield mil-spec's/loaded and a few kimbers. its gona be a trial run to figure out which gun i wanted to get. i will be shooting in relitavly high volumes, and wanted to konw which ammo to use. key point, i dont wana trash these guns because they dont belong to me. so what is a cheaper brand that is not too bad to shoot and decent quality. question seems obvious, but let me konw. thanks
also what should i expect to pay per box?

Depending on actual quantity needed, 230GR Ball price can run upwards of 12.00 for a box of 50. Of course then add shipping if mail order

Walmart Winchester White box, CCI Blazers

Natchez Shooting Supply, CCI Blazer, Federal American Eagle

Outdoors Marksman, CCI Blazer, Federal American Eagle

Any quality manufacture whould be fine except for wolf. I have had hit and miss reliablilty in 1911's using wolf ammo.

+1 Federal American Eagle (the red box)

thousands of rounds used, no problems in my 1911s

The least expensive way is to reload, $90-$100/k and you tailor the load. Wolf or CCI usually comes in at the lower end for ammo cost, but some of the indoor ranges are coming down on steel cases so check before you get a boatload of Wolf.

Independence, PMC and American Eagle are pretty affordable when the deals pop up on them and good stuff to boot. I got the last couple of cases at a gun show for $250/k

You should use different ammo. Try them all, different brands of Hollow Points, semi wad, ball, and lead.

If each gun runs them all and groups then it's down to fit, finish features and cost.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
