So I just bought 2000 military wcc once fired 9mm brass to reload for my new g19. And most if not all the brass I have looked at have a small bulge towards the base of the case( described previously as being shot in an unsupported chamber) . Will this be safe to shoot? When I put them through my resizing dies will it straighten them back up and be ok in a standard g19 barrel?

Once fired wcc 9mm brass concern...

I have had a problem with my 9mm reloads nice chambering in my GLock 26. Got the brass from various sources, but many of them also have a bulge at the bottom. I did a lot of research on numerous forums and decided the cheapest and just as effective route was to purchase the 'Lee Carbide Factory Crimp Die' in 9mm Luger. In fact they just arrived today so I am excited about getting home and trying them out. I currently use a Dillon 550 press with Dillon carbide dies. Apparently the Lee Die that I purchased resized lower than the Dillon dies. The Lee Die is placed in the #4 position so it crimps and does a full lenght resize as the last step. I will report back and let you know how it works for me, but from reading the forums, it sounds like it will take care of the bulge.
Also, there are other methods to correct the bulge, but I won't go into that now. Hope this helps!Comment

i also reload for my glock, the issue i have with WCC brass is if you look at the primer pocket, the hole is sometimes offset (not perfectly straight) so sometimes my primers dont go in straight. Even with a swager it still doesnt help with primers getting crushed (i reload on a 1050)
for the bulge issue i would recommend the EGW modified lee sizing die
this works wonders and i never have to chamber check my 9mm anymore for my 17, 19 and 17Lhttp://www.jvindustries.net

Unless you have a Casepro (which I do and if you send me your brass I'll process it for shipping and a VERY small fee) the EGW die is the best way to go.
For your seating/crimp die, frankly, I'm a Dillon guy and for reloading presses, there is Dillon and then everybody else. And...before it's said, you CAN reload precision ammo on a progressive press. David Tubb, John Whidden and US Palma Team load on a XL650.

I use a Redding sizer with .010" trimmed off the top of the shellholder. It sizes my case tighter than new and they actually grow a bit in length.i also reload for my glock, the issue i have with WCC brass is if you look at the primer pocket, the hole is sometimes offset (not perfectly straight) so sometimes my primers dont go in straight. just saw your PM and i totally lost my train of thought and was wondering why you asked me this haha
with my setup right now on my 1050 i use the dillon sizing die to decap and size then i run the EGW/LEE die through it again.
Station 1 is Dillon Size and Decap
Station 2 is swage
Station 3 is prime
Station 4 is EGW Size (i removed the decapping pin)
Station 5 is Powder
Station 6 is Seat
Station 7 is Crimp
Everything runs flawless as of date and i rarely need to chamber check any of my rounds anymore.
i shoot anywhere from 750-1000 rounds a month both practice and competition (USPSA or IDPA or fun club matches) no issues in any of my glocks and i frequently shoot a glock 17 and glock 24. The EGW die does the trick and it might not get the brass perfectly straight as a redding grx push through but its straight enough to run flawless in my own glocks.
i run an open glock 17 with a wolf barrel as well and that has no issue as well even with the tighter barrelLast edited by SirLoki; 03-10-2010, 10:53 PM.http://www.jvindustries.net
