all pistol brass (not 50.ae/500sw/460/etc) go for 3.00 a lb. rifle brass(223/308/3006/etc) (not 50 bmg or exotic) go for 2.50 a lb.

      .50 goes for .50-1.00 each

        Range floor late afternoon.

I bring my own bucket to the range and just make sure I clean up my brass and the brass to my left and right of me. A few trips like this and you will have buckets full of each kind of of brass. I have so many 9mm cases I'm going to have to start selling them.

sorry -- yeah -- shoulda mentioned--mostly 9mm Federal. once fired. I was just wondering if it is worth picking up after shooting at the range. Is there a market for it for people who reload? Or is it just bulk at a metal recycling center?

I don't really buy once-fired brass but if I had to name some prices based on what I've seen looking around here and there...I'd say:

            9mm - $30 per 1k once-fired
            .40 - $35 per 1k once-fired
            .45 - $40-45 per 1k once fired

Just roughly. At the ranges I go to, picking up a lot of brass for profit just isn't worth it, but I will pick up brass that I am allowed to so I can use it myself.

I go to one range that allows you to pick up Brass I usually go on Saturday late afternoon I usually only gather up .38 .40 & .45 as these are the sizes that I and my friends reload very rarely find any .357 but i keep that also I also pickup .223 .243 3006 if I find them I have never sold brass I usually give it to my buddies if I have more than I need but I am finding that I am keeping most of what I find and prepping it I trim all new brass to me and clean the primer pockets and then tumble it and store it until I am ready to load it I am currently processing .45 brass so I can start loading up for the summer.

WOW I don't blame you for not wanting to go back. I'd be pissed too. At my local range/shop there was a new guy who worked there and he gave me a bit of a hard time for all the brass I picked up. He had every right because I went in with 100 rounds and came out with at least 500 pieces of brass . Anyway I explained to him that I reload and that I buy all my powder, primers and bullets from them so he can have his brass back or he can sell me $150 worth of supplies right now..... he laughed and said "Right this way sir let me help you with the boxes of lead, they are heavy". I know the owners and they are always more than happy to see me take brass because the pennies they loose in brass is made up with the dollars I spent in supplies. We have an understanding that works for both of us.

This is pretty much what you can expect to spend on once fored brass. Check the ammo for sale threads on calguns.

just throw it in with the brass cased. they are not the magic easter egg with the winning mark or anything.

My local indoor range has a sign saying it is a safety issue for not being responsible for reloading as the reason. I'm sure they simply resell it as the true reason they won't all people to pick it up, even their own. That being the case I don't bother to sweep it up and put it into the can after I pay my fee's. If I'm pickup up my spent brass, I'm keeping it.
