At ~2600 fps I don't know that a cast bullet will make it to the paper

A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

Maybe 30-35ish? You are shooting for about 1800-2k feet per second tops since it's a lead bullet right?

Do NOT try this! Its a cast bullet, not jacketed.

I'll have to look in my Lyman book when I get home, but do you have any pistol powders? Is the bullet gas checked?

Thanks for the reply guys. Oregon Trail said there will be no leading bec it is a hard material but they only have data for 30-30. I have unique and Bullseye for my pistol, can I use that?

there will be leading if you push it over ~2000fps and you might find one big hole with a lot of littles ones

I have used Unique and Bullsey in my 30.06 with GAS checked Lead bullets.

There is good info here http://www.castbulletassoc.org

But what I would do is send an email to Alliant and ask them. Most of the powder comp have more load data than they publish.

Good info above. I have found that even hard cast rifle bullets (linotype alloy) without a gas check should be limited to using pistol powders and keeping them under 1500 fps or so. Size them right and use the correct lube and it should be fine. Anything else and you need to gas check for best performance.

My plinking cast bullet plinking load:

10grs of Trailboss, 170gr HC Lead FP

No recoil, about 1300fps. You can go up a little but don't compress it.
