Marking Brass

I was curious if anyone had found an easy method to mark brass. What got me thinking about it was the talk of the .45 NT brass with small primers it would be nice to mark them so you can separate them quickly when reloading. Also it might be nice to track reloads. I am just curious if anyone has found a method they like.

I put them in different plastic bags, which I mark.

I have used red Dykem, because that is what I had available - works OK - I expect blue dykem would work as well -- Dykem is used in the shop for layouts on metal. Remove with acetone.

Take a fine tipped Sharpie and color the embossed lettering on the base of the brass. The lettering is small enough that tumbling media really cant get in there and scrub the Sharpie ink away. I've got brass that's gone through at least 10 polish/reload cycles and I can still tell the old marked brass from the newer non marked.

I haven't really heard of a way to mark a complete case to easily tell which one is which. I tried doing exactly as he said above, but I found check the lettering was just as easy as checking the size of the primer pocket.
