    Small pistol primer .45

Was just reloading some .45 tonight, and came across a small pistol primered case... weird! I had never seen one before - didn't even know they made them. It was a piece of Speer brass. Do you guys use these?

    Yea,

small-primered brass is a hair-puller...unless you have the patience of "Job" to save them, grab your conversion kit and swap-out for small primers, and reload them with small primers.

It really bothers me when I get a wrench thrown into my groove...and I have to stop the reloading process to pull out the shell and throw it into the "circular file".

There's really nothing I can do, as they bypass all my "checks" and make it to my press all the time. (I don't look at all the stamps when I pick them up from the range, and they also get sorted by my SHELL SORTER and pass the "size inspection").

Below are a few of the small-primers shells that were thrown away in my last batch of 900 reloaded rounds. The G.A.P. was not small-primered, but it was an un-usable shell. (Just FYI).

The letters NT on the brass in Raymonds picture stands for Non Toxic. It was/is a line of "clean" ammo for use in indoor ranges using a small primer so as to drive you insane.
      It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

Always fun on the Dillon to hit one of those.

I think there was another thread here about the NT brass.
