I changed my HD load for my 12 guage!

I normally load 00 winchester and never thought anything of it until the other day a friend and I stated doing a test to see how fast and accurate we can shoot on paper. He had federal low recoil 00 with him and said that he likes it better because of the controllability.

After shooting again and again I noticed that my shots were faster and more accurate with the Low Recoil rounds! I am sure I am giving up some ballistics but not loosing much sleep over it, I am sure if I had to defend my house the 00 Low Recoil stuff would more then do the job.

what do you guys think and what do you load for HD in 12Guage?

Keep them in a pump. Some semi-autos have issues feeding low recoil slugs. however many low recoil slugs are designed with tactical applications in mind.

How do these low recoil loads pattern in comparison to the full-power stuff?

1Lostinspace - You actually get better penetration with low recoil. Since the buckshots are not getting deformed as much as the full power rounds. In that you also get a tighter pattern.

I have a combo of low recoil slugs and buckshots for HD.

The Federal LE low-recoil 00 buck I used to enjoy so much (model LE-132-00) was fantastic. The recoil is significantly less than many other full powered loads and you can get on target for follow up shots much quicker. At 10 yards, it patterned like a huge slug...a single, 2" wide big hole. The Federal stuff also cycled the smoothest through my gun so it was an obvious choice. Enjoy it, it's great stuff.

yeah that's another thing in my house the farthest that I would be shooting would be about 10 yards at most! So pattern does not matter that much to me, follow up shots do.
