I am going to start reloading for 40s&w, 450bushmaster, 30-30, 38/357 and 223/556. After reading reloading 101 stickie, I would like to know your opinions. What would be a good beginner set-up? One that won't break the bank and will reload rifle and pistol rounds? Also would like to reload 12 gauge. Not sure if I want progressive just yet. Thanks in advance.

There have been plenty of threads on setups. Whats your budget in the short term and long term? -
Unless you need huge production for competition or something I don't think you could go wrong by calling Kempf's gun shop and ordering the Lee Classic Turret press kit with both upgrades.
You'll get:
Pistol Caliber Kits Include:
Lee Classic Turret Press
Lee Deluxe 4-Die Set for the pistol caliber of your choice. (3 Die set in 380, 44/40 and 357 Sig)
Lee Auto Disk Powder Measure
Lee Safety Prime System (Large or Small)
Lee Auto Disk Riser (Required for the Safety Prime System)
Six MTM 50 round Plastic Ammo Boxes
With both upgrades ( $22.00 ) you will get the pro autodisk power measure and both large and small safety prime systems.
This whole set-up is $199.95.
Buy your extra dies there as they have great prices, bullets too! I've had great experiences dealing with Kempfs, and the Lee Classic Turret has been fantastic to load on. I loaded my first round on Halloween, and just load as I need 'em. So far I've loaded a bit over 2000 rounds of 45 ACP and 38 Special.
Good luck and enjoy!01001001 00100000 01110111 01101001 01101100 01101100 00100000 01001110 01001111 00100000 01001100 01001111 01001110 01000111 01000101 01010010 00100000 01100011 01101111 01101101 01110000 01101100 01111001Comment

Here's another one to consider. It's the RCBS turret kit. It's on sale right now for $297 at midway. Regularly $400.
Comes with everything you'll need except the dies.
The value of the accessories without the press would exceed $300 by themselves and they are all things you need.
IMO any big name brand makes great single stage and turret presses, but RCBS makes great everything. In other words, I would get any press, but make sure the extras are quality products.
Just make sure whatever you get has everything you'll need or after you buy everything piece by piece you would have been way better off just getting a kit.
Here are a few to consider:
RCBS Turret Kit = $297

RCBS SS kit = $306

Lyman SS kit: = $327
