Hello All, I was wondering if anyone has the name of a good manual that covers 45 colt "cowboy loads". You see I have an Uberti 1858 Rem. replica that is C&B and I want to put a R&D Conversion cylinder on it for some black powder loads. Those are no problem as I have shot BP before, and just plan to use the same load in the cartrige with a grease cookie and some filler for compression.
However I would like to be able to pop off a few rounds at the local indoor range (no BP allowed). I understand that cat fart cowboy loads will be safe. I have ordered some Trail Boss to use. I have looked at the Hogdon web site but it does not give a specific "cowboy load" although some are pretty weak, in the range of 800fps and 8100psi. That seems pretty cat fartish to me, but I would like to read it in a specific reloading manual. None of mine list "cowboy loads". This is a fairly sturdy firearm. Steel frame, and it handles 35 grns of Goex fffg all day long. But I don't know how much pressure that is developing, or the burn rate.
Sorry this is so long, and help would be appriciated. Thanks
