    Steel core 7.62 bullets?

    I have never seen steel core 7.62 bullets.
    Though it interesting.

    You obviously don't buy 7.62x54r lol. I haven't seen them as components, but I have in a lot of surplus ammo.

      Do they have to be resized or are 7.62x54 bullets gtg in .308?

        7.62x54 bullets are not good to go in a .308! they are .312 in diameter or some may be .310 so yes they have to be resized. If you are reloading for a 7.62x54 you could use the .308 but probably wont be very accurate. Have you ever seen AP 30'06 with the black tip? it is steel core and is .308 diameter

          Steel core projectiles are not very common for 7.62x51. But there's no telling what those bullets being offered on Craigslist are really made of. They might just be steel jacketed and not steel cored. Many people mistakenly use the terms steel-jacketed and steel-cored interchangeably, which might be the case with the above listing. Steel jacketed 7.62x51 projectiles are very common.
