    Pulling bullets..

So I got a Frankford Arsenal impact puller today and have started the process of pulling the .40cal pullets that I need to adjust the powder in. Its gonna take forever haha it seems like it takes 20 good wacks to knock a bullet out.

No, it depends on the force you use. I do one or two wacks.

What are you hitting it against? I learned that concrete in my garage results in 1 or 2 hard whacks while the reloading bench does nothing.

Hit it like your driving a nail into a 2x4

I have a very solid chunk of wood that I use (not on a countertop or workbench), and I pull 30-06 bullets with just 2 solid whack's.

I am hitting it against a 2x4 I am pulling .40 so they should have a bit of a bullet crimp which might be causing it I will try a little harder it works its just tediously slow.

What is the 2x4 on? I recommend standing it up and planting it firmly on a concrete floor.

The item in my garage that works the best for hitting my bullet puller on can be best described as a 300+lb cutting board. It used to belong to a Japanese restaurant. I haven't yet decided what I want to do with it...besides pulling bullets.

haha, use it on a your carpet floor and it'll take you at least 200 wacks to get one bullet out.

I put a thin rag on the concrete and it'll usually pull the bullet off in two or three swings. Beats having to take 10-20 swings. I find it wastes a lot of time so I just don't even bother with a lot of rounds. 9mm and .40S&W supplies aren't worth too much anyway.

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I just pulled 30 bullets yesterday that had the wrong COAL. It took 2-3 whacks each using my RCBS bullet puller. As always wear eye protection.
