    Need 7.62x54R?

If you need 7.62x54R and are a Sportsman Guide member you can get it for less than .10 cents a round delivered to your door in California (depending on what county you live in). I had 1760 rds delivered today (2 cases of 880 rds) for $165.00. Order 2 cases of CX7KW-114024 Hungarian 147 gr (880 RDS), enter your member # and use coupon code SPGK380 (free shipping). Hope it still works. Good luck!

Last months Century special was a better deal. Bulgarian light ball, 1200 rounds for less than $100.00 delivered. And the best part, it is brass cased so you get about $30.00 back on recycle. Thats around .054 cents per round for the 54R. The 8mm special from the month before was even better at .024 cents per round after brass recycling is figured in. The 8mm sold out quick. Brass prices are going to drive ammo prices higher and higher.

            DRH,

Sounds like you got a killer deal from Century.

I ordered some LB Bulgarian from SG yesterday. Hard to beat $63/600 rnds shipped (that is being a member w/coupon).

On a related topic, anyone have 300 rnds of HB Bulgarian they would like to trade for LB Bulgarian?

I just realized I've got several flavors of LB, but no HB

Century has the HB for about 60.00/600 rounds plus shipping.

If you order $500 from Century, the shipping is free.

The 1950 dated heavy ball is also brass cased so you will get about $15.00 back if you recycle on 600 rounds. Yellow brass is around $1.30 per pound.

I received 2 300 rnd spam cans of the Bulgarian LB from SG yesterday. Got '51 and 53' dates. I opened one up and it looks pretty good, didn't find any split cases.

We'll see how this stuff compares to the Russian and Polish (my favorite 54r ammo)

I had purchased a 250 rnd spam can of Bulgarian LB from a guy at the Costa Mesa Gun Show a while back and it had lots of split cases.

Anybody try pull-down x54R bullet to reload .303 Brit

Are x54R and 303Brit bullet diameter the same (both .312"??)

How about reusing the powder, are both round about the same psi? If not, how much down-measure to start?

Would recycler take primed-empty brass? (assume x54R corrosive)

Why is this caliber so cheap? I mean, the case is big, the bullet is big, and there's a lot of powder in each round. Why so cheap when everything else has gone up radically in price?

Because there are 500 trillion rounds of it sitting in warehouses, depots, barns, etc. throughout most of Eastern Europe, Asia, and much of Africa and Latin America. The projectile isn't particularly special or valuable, the powder would be hard to sell as pull-down surplus due to age and condition, and the cases are berdan-primed (with corrosive primers), often steel or other non-brass metals, and difficult to reuse.

Lots of supply + limited demand for whole ammo + very little demand for components = cheap surplus ammo.

Sometimes I've spent more on shipping than ammo in this caliber.

The same could be said about 8mm. The only problem is getting it imported

Coupon code for free shipping still works. Thanks!
