Hornady XTP .357, 125gr

OK, here is the problem. I normally load my 38 JHP with unique according to my Richard Lee loading manual 5.0-5.3grs. I ordered some Hornady 125gr XTP bullets but my manual doesn't give data for using unique powder with that bullet. The most common denominator between 38spl and 38+P is universal and titegroup. Does anyone load these that has experimented or have a good recipe? I like to stay as versitle as possible which is why I used unique.

If someone knows that I can use unique please let me know and give me the loading data.

I saw that but the XTP is a whole different animal. Density is much greater then a standard JHP. I think it was 0.177 where most are around 0.144. I guess I could try talking to Hornady and see what they recommend.

This recipe taken from Speer #13 manual. 5.7 grains Unique. The manual does not recommend reducing less than 5.7 grains. C.O.L 1.435". That's standard pressure.

This recipe is +P pressure also from the same manual. 5.7 grains minimum - 6.0 grains maximum Unique. C.O.L 1.435"

By the way I like Unique for .357 mag, 9mm, .45 acp loads.

125gr HDY XTP, Longshot powder, 7.0grs, 1228fps, 18,300psi

That's smoking for a 38+P, so that is what I am loading tonight. I was lucky and Duncan's had Longshot today. It should be noted that their prices are outrageous, 22lr brick of 500 is $40, that is the Winchester Super X. All other prices are double as well.
