I recently purchased a box of surplus ammo that was mislabeled as 7.62x54r.
However upon further inspection, it is actually 7.7mm
The head stamp on it says it's VPT 40.
The boxes the ammo came in, are wedge shaped, and have an orange label.
All of the info on the boxes is as follows.
V.R.T. 176/37
Panos 2,54gr
15 PATRUUNAA
K.K. Kovia
Kal 7,7 m/m
llman Siteita
Valtion Patruunatehdas
7,89 - 7,92
12-2-4C
VPT Nim. N
111
They have brass cases, and silver slugs.
It does not chamber in my 91/30
It looks like quality ammo.
I have about 220 rounds of the stuff.
Looks just like this stuff http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=145129108
Should I buy a firearm to match my ammo? Or should I just sell the stuff to someone who needs it?
